A day in the life of Financial Planner, Amelia Aitchison
Welcome to Logic’s “day in the life” series, where you can learn more about the people at Logic Financial Services, and find out what we do at work and home.
This month, meet Amelia Aitchison, our Financial Planner. Between her toddler declaring when he’s ready for breakfast and a welcome-home dinner cooked by her husband, Amelia spends her days meeting all her clients’ needs.
What time do you wake up and do you have a tried and tested morning routine?
I wake up at 6.15 am and get my toddler and myself up and ready, then we go and get the dogs up and ready.
We certainly do have a routine or we would always be late!
My son decides when he will eat breakfast, although its generally within a short window each day, he will run up and declare he is “ready mama”. This means the dogs routine adjusts slightly each day depending on how hungry he is!
How’s the commute? Do you use public transport, drive, walk, or cycle to work?
Every day is different! I could be in the office, working from home, or out seeing clients.
What are your primary responsibilities?
As an advisor all my responsibilities are centred around clients, whether that be meetings, reports, following up on advice, or undertaking research.
There’s a clear link between everything I do and how it benefits the client I am working with.
First task of the day?
Since every day is different, I don’t have a set task.
If I’m out seeing clients, my day will be very different to a day at home or in the office.
That said, the first thing would always be to check emails – it’s key to be available to clients as and when needed.
Any top tips for managing your time?
Prioritise and don’t put things off. I love a list!
What three small things always make your day better?
Spending time with clients, staying on top of my workload, and a good cup of coffee.
What do you enjoy most about working at Logic?
The ethos, it’s always all about the clients and that suits me down to the ground.
What’s for dinner and who’s cooking?
My husband tends to do the cooking and I am very lucky that he enjoys it and is good at it! One favourite is his special fried rice.
How do you unwind in the evening?
I’m currently putting a photo book together of our recent wedding and I love going through all the photos.
